Glass with Bluetooth will make you be able to receive call but won't provide Internet access. iPhone has a hotspot feature (or tethering on Android) to share your cellular data via wifi. Some of cellular provider may prohibit, it depends on your operator.

If the Glass become a big hit, $1500 for a chance to get into its app development early is worth it.
But there's no guaranteed that Glass will become a hit in mainstream at this point, so we kind of have to take a risk. To mitigate the risk, I share the cost with another developer so that I feel more comfortable to put the money in.

Good to meet all of you! My glass will be delivered this Monday. GDK'd came out. What a good timing.

Just wondering if most people here have Glass on already? or mostly still wait for it?

Look forward to talk to everyone :)

Google Glass Apps / Re: How are people coming up with app ideas?
« on: November 30, 2013, 10:30:14 PM »
At the present, I don't think there's a lot of demand since Glass is not yet on mainstream. But, I think its early users tend to be more enthusiastic. They may love trying out new stuffs and give feedbacks to you easier.

The way I come up with app idea right now is to look at my own problem, how glass can make my daily life better. Since there's probably not many apps ready-to-use, it's time to build our own.
