Niantic Lab's 'Field Trip' Comes To Google Glass

Now this is in my opinion one of the ultimate users for Google Glass.  Imagine being able to always have your own personal field trip guide so that wherever you were you'd be able to identify a building, place, object or event and know the history or story behind it.   Well that's what Niantic Lab's 'Field Trip' app has been offering Android lovers for a while now and I'm happy to say that with the 'Glass' version it really comes into its own.  I can see this being the very first app that people download after receiving their device.  It truly lives up to the promise of giving us information in a timely, yet unobtrusive way and there's no question of its value.  The video above shows a bit of what it's like to have 'Field Trip' running while wearing 'Glass'.

Now in addition to the scenes above, imagine walking around Washington DC and having the history of any building or location you walk by available to know at a glance.  Imagine driving around Los Angeles and finding out what movies were shot where.  Imagine walking around Rome and having any site you look at immediately available to delve into.   The possibilities are simply endless...and for you lucky 'Glass' owners it's available starting today.

I hope there is a cheaper price than this a little bit.
